Project title: Marshland high school prize giving

The idea: 

My story will be on the marshland high school GSCE certificate and prize giving as i have to go to it and i will be asking a few students about the event and how they feel before and after they get a certificate and then the teachers after they handed out all the certificates and how they feel.

My target audience is teenagers as they are the ones receiving the prizes and certificates as its a very important time for them as its for all genders and for anyone who's age 11-17 as then they will look what it is about and they can react to other peoples reactions.

Marshland high school prize giving

What is marshland high school? 

Marshland is a secondary school in King's Lynn and West Norfolk District of Norfolk which is between Wisbech and Kings Lynn for ages between 11 and 16. The old part of the school was built in 1926 which was a specialised science college and got an extension to have more students then turned more into a high school. 

The event 

The event was about receiving certificates and trophy’s or shields which was to show how well the students who was previously there, it can show all their achievements from all the time they had learned at that school and how well the staff did at teaching them. 

At the beginning of the event the students were separated into two room in one room was A-K and in room two was L-Z and were told to go out into the event in alphabetical order of surnames and then everyone sat down and listened to a guest speaker and a speech from all the heads of all four houses and finally the headteacher and after all the speeches everyone at the event had to listen to the school choir singing three songs which was good but it was long and boring.

Video idea: Explain the narrative and representation of your video short.
the video idea is that people feel different about when they receive something they didn't think they would get when they were at the event as the event was showing other views of people feelings and what they felt after the event.

P: This is marshland high school i went there for five years as i was a student and it was a very great place (voice of god)

P: this is my friend Lakeisha she was given the shield of resilience

P: How do you feel about the event?

L: The event was actually really good and i was not expecting this award and im  pretty proud of myself and thank everybody for doing all this

P: This is Dominic he was given the trophy of progress as he progressed a lot over the five years

P: How did you fell before the event?

D: I felt alright i was wondering if i was getting a cup or not and that was a surprise as i got a cup

P: Why were you surprised?

D: Well i didn't know i would get a cup at all

P: How did you feel before you got your certificate?

D: I felt very anxious very nervous a little bit

P: Why?

D: Well your walking up some very important people

D: No

P: Were you anxious in front of everyone?

D: No i didn't feel anxious i just kept my eyes on the certificate and i felt alright

P: This person would be Mr Saunders

P: Do you think the event went well and why?

S: I think the event went well, i was pleased about the turn out of the students and all the students respected each over when they got their awards, the turn up from the parents and family was promising despite poor weather, the turnout of the staff and people coming with their supporters really pleased about the event

P: How did you feel about the event?

S: I thought the event went really well Millie jay was a fantastic guest speaker which inspired the students and the students received their certificates and pleased about the turn out and the event was a success thank you

I used a close up shot so then its helps the interview and it was on a amazon fire tablet

I had to make a title fade out for the name of the school and put my video in order of thew interviews

This video was alright and shows how people did feel about receiving the prizes and how the teachers felt how the event was. It was a small bit emotional to me, even though i have not done mine yet as i have mine in two years but the audio is a bit loud.

what i have done about the feedback

• i have deleted the graphic so then the video makes sense
• i have lowered the background audio and increased the voices of people interviewed 

Evaluation: How successful was the outcome

The outcome was a bit successful by showing the aim of the documentary to the target audience as i had help from two other people from the event as they are in my target audience and they were in the documentary then they told me how they felt on that night which can show how they could react in that way as they could also get emotional if they don't see their friends very often like meas i don't see my friends often
But it was a bit unsuccessful by most people didn't want to be filmed which makes people reactions filmed could be some what limited responses about how they felt about how that night which then some people might not understand the reactions of the people who agreed to be filmed which could limit how emotional others would think of the event and not feel emotional while watching the video on YouTube which i think people would go to watch something else as they could get bored or lose attention about the event responses that were gained after the event.
